Other than buzzing roads, what else could you expect from the city that provides employment to most of the people? Gurgaon is considered to be a city of employment since it is a financial and technology hub. Though Gurgaon provides a lot of opportunities, it somewhere or the other lags behind from Delhi which is well equipped with all the amenities such as the station-vice metro. Travelling in Gurgaon is not that feasible as there are limited metro stations. Professionals prefer metro than any other means to commute so that they could have a hassle-free and congestion-free experience in the morning. A number of people travelling to Gurgaon for professional purposes are from Dwarka and the people travelling from there, find it quite strenuous commuting every day. Hence, they demanded two metro links, to Dwarka and to the airport.

To their surprise, their plea is now heard by The Haryana Mass Rapid Transport Corporation (HMRTC). The corporation is in favour of the people and has decided to initiate a metro link from Sector 23 Rezangla Chowk to Sector 21, Dwarka. This metro line not only would connect two stations but also would connect with the Metro Blue line and the Airport Express line. Haryana Government already had a talk with the concerned higher authority. The metro link that is in the focus, would be developed by Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC). According to the sources, Delhi metro has already started with its work plan and begun the feasibility study for the routes and the other stations. As soon as the feasibility study would be completed, another task, that is, the route management would commence. On the basis of these studies, a detailed plan or detailed project report DPR would be prepared and forwarded to the government for further approvals.

The Gurugram authorities disclosed that the Detailed project report (DPR) has been sent for the approval of the Central Government. According to the authorities, the work on the ground would most probably commence from this upcoming summer. The line, that is to be developed, would link with Rapid Metro, Gurgaon metro yellow line and Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS). The proposal of the extension of the corridor from Udhyog Vihar near Sector 22 to Rapid Metro’s Cyber City station has been approved by HMRTC with which the city would have an extended network of metro lines connected through 6 interchangeable stations.

Dundahera, near Udhyog Vihar, is expected to come up as the biggest interchange station and would connect blue line, Gurgaon Metro, Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) and rapid Metro. This initiative would not only help the professional people to ease their commute but also help Gurgaon as a city, to develop more and more so that the city could provide more facilities and retain more resources.
