The state government previously approved the project for Rapid metro to get connected with Gurugram-Faridabad metro. The Rapid metro at sector 56 will get connected with Gurugram – Faridabad metro corridor. There will be an interchange facility at sector 56, without taking exits i.e. within stations only. This would be very beneficial for everyone as there will increase in  tariff of people all around Gurugram and Faridabad. There would be around 8304 passengers per hour per direction and around 1.2 Lakh passenger trips daily. The basic aim for this corridor is to reduce traffic on the roads and increase the ease and connivance of the general public. There is lots of traffic on Gurugram – Faridabad road and to curtail the problem this decision has been taken by the state government. The state government has handed over this project to DMRC (Delhi Metro Rail Corporation). This project was announced by Chief Minister of Haryana in the year 2016. The detailed project report was made by DMRC in March 2020. On June 10 DPR handed the details to HMRTC and later to state assembly and finally on the 23rd December field survey was done to check the alignment of the route and spots were decided for developing stations. This project of Gurugram – Faridabad Rapid metro will be scheduled to launch in the year 2025. There will be around 11,059 to 12,553 estimated passengers travelling for the coming years of 2031 and 2041 respectively.

There will be eight stations and out of which two will be underground. The stations are as follows Bata Chowk (Faridabad), which has stations on the Violet Line, Aravali Golf Course, Badkhal Enclave, Pali Stone Crusher Zone, and Police Chowki Manger, Mandi, Sector 56 and Vatika Chowk.

The project will comprise an underground corridor of 4.19 KM and train maintenance depot at Sushant Lok. The project got green chit by chief minister Mahohar Lal Khattar but there was a delay in DPR and finally it was completed in the month of March 2020. These two cities are having huge tariff of people because of Multinationals and corporate offices all around the city and Gurugram in itself is a very developed city also Faridabad is the hub of many industrial areas creating huge amount of employment.  Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) and Haryana Mass Rapid Transport Corporation (HMRTC) has stated their first field survey to check the project in detail and matters like alignment of the route, spots for developing stations and land status. It was further stated that this project will not consume much area of land and no harm will be caused to the environment. This project will help to change the shape of Gurugram-Faridabad in coming years and will help in reducing pollution which is been created due to vehicles. Metro is the safest place for everyone and very cheap to travel around the city in a very convenient manner. So, let’s wait and watch for the new era of both the cities.
