Soil testing has been started on Faridabad-Sohna bypass road by the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) to speed up the work for the Delhi-Mumbai expressway to DND Flyway in Delhi. The holes were sunk at two different locations i.e. Faridabad near Chandawali Bridge and Sector 37. Besides this, a third spot is also identified at kali Mod in Ballabhgarh.
The NHAI official also stated that after the soil testing analysis we will begin work completely. NHAI plans to link the Delhi-Mumbai expressway to DND flyway via a 59Km- long highway passing through Faridabad, Nuh, and Sohna. The project is expected to get ready by 2023. This project will be completed in three packages as said by NHAI officials i.e. DND to Jaitpur (8KM); Jaitpur to Ballabhgarh (25km); Ballabhgarh to Sohna (26Km).
The officials also said that the third package i.e., Ballabhgarh to Sohna (26Km) will have six lanes with an interchange linking the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway with KMP Expressway. The NHAI officials also told that they have planned to connect a new ring road from DND Flyway to the Property at Sohna Road and an interchange to connect the Kundli-Manesar-Palwal (KMP) Expressway with Delhi-Vadodara-Mumbai Expressway at a cross-section of Sohna, Palwal, Manesar, and Nuh. The first phase of work will start in February; this work has been awarded to Gujrat-based Construction Company.

The basic aim of this project is to reduce traffic in Delhi, Faridabad, Ballabhgarh, and Gurugram. NHAI project manager (Technical) added that “With the DND Flyway the entry point, traffic from east Delhi and UP can bypass Delhi and head straight towards Mumbai.”
To fulfill the requirements of this project NHAI has acquired 150 hectares of land in Faridabad, Gurugram, Palwal, and Nuh. The road will pass from Sikri, Harfla, Jajru, Calgon, Bhanakpur, Nangla Jogian, and Mohla in Faridabad, Paroli, Khedli Jeet, Sahrala, and Kalwaka in Palwal and Hajipur and Loh villages Property in Gurgaon. There will be two starting points of Delhi- Mumbai Expressway i.e. DND Flyway in Delhi and another near Alipur in Sohna.
The NHAI also said “The loop will be designed in such a way that the KMP Expressway and Delhi-Mumbai Expressway can easily be connected. The interchange will have four loops for commuters to travel from Delhi to Vadodara. Commuters can use this interchange if they wish to travel to Palwal or Manesar. loops will be designed in such a manner that there will be no stoppage for commuters.” It was further added that “Slip roads will be constructed for commuters to travel from Manesar towards Delhi or Vadodara. Commuters who are coming from Manesar can use the ramp to go towards Delhi or they can take the other road and go towards Vadodara,”
This project will definitely change the shape of Faridabad, Ballabhgarh, Sohna, and Gurugram and will help to decrease traffic in these cities.
