The DDA advisory committee, led by lieutenant governor Anil Baijal, examined the draught MPD 2041, which was finalised after taking into account public comments and recommendations.

The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) will present the Masterplan for Delhi (MPD) 2041 to its board of directors for approval shortly after the consultation process is completed, before forwarding it to the Centre for approval and gazette notice.

The DDA advisory committee, led by lieutenant governor Anil Baijal, examined the draught MPD 2041, which was finalised after taking into account public comments and recommendations. The Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha elected MPs, municipal councillors, personnel from the national and Delhi governments, and professionals in the field of urban development and planning make up the council.

The authority, DDA’s top body, adopted the draught MPD 2041 on April 13, 2021, and it was made public on June 9, 2021, after extensive talks with numerous stakeholders and individuals. More than 33,200 proposals were submitted, according to officials, and a number of them were included in the draught plan after the Board of Enquiry and Hearing approved them.

According to administrators, the majority of the members’ valuable comments had already been included into the plan. They stated that the fresh ideas made on Monday were recorded and would be appropriately integrated in the draught MPD 2041.

“The suggestions, largely related to the environment, economy, shelter and social infrastructure, mobility and physical infrastructure, spatial development strategies, and so on, were deliberated upon in detail by the advisory council,” the LG tweeted, adding that the DDA vice-chairman was to consider the council members’ suggestions for inclusion in the MPD and to present them to the authority “as soon as possible.”

The Board of Enquiry and Hearing had 14 sessions in October and November of last year, according to DDA officials. The text was updated after public, civil society, NGOs, residents’ welfare associations, market associations, federations, professional organisations, government agencies, and political members provided comments.
