Gurgaon Section of the Dwarka Expressway Might Open in December 2022

The 10.1-kilometer section of the highway in Delhi, which began building after nearly a year on the Gurugram route, would take longer to finish(dwarka expressway update 2022).

The 18.9-kilometer Dwarka Expressway stretch in Gurugram from Kherki Daula to Bajghera is expected to open to commuters by the end of the year, according to officials from the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI), who said on Sunday that the Gurugram portion of the project’s deadline is December 2022(dwarka expressway update 2022).

The 10.1 km segment of the expressway in Delhi, which began construction after nearly a year on the Gurugram route, would take longer to finish.

While visiting Gurugram in September last year, Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari stated that the expressway would be open to passengers this year.

Residents, on the other hand, have been sceptical of the current deadline, pointing out that it is just one of many that have been set for the project since it began.

The Rs 9,000 crore Dwarka Expressway project, launched in 2007, will be a northern ring road connecting Shiv Murti on National Highway 48 (NH 48) in Delhi and Kherki Daula, giving commuters travelling between Gurugram and Delhi with an alternative route.

The 29-kilometer length was designed to make travel easier for commuters and relieve congestion on existing roads between the two cities. Although construction on the Gurugram section of the project began in November 2019, work on the Delhi stretch began in September of the following year.

Due to compensation conflicts over land acquisition, litigation, pandemic lockdowns, and multiple building activity prohibitions in the winter, work on the part in Gurugram, which had an initial deadline of 24 months, was delayed.

Its four loops, which span more than two kilometres, will offer seamless connectivity to key portions such as the Delhi-Gurgaon Expressway, the Southern Peripheral Road (SPR), the Central Peripheral Road (CPR), and the under-construction Delhi-Mumbai Expressway.
