What could you expect from the city like Gurgaon that offers you a number of opportunities and employment? The number of opportunities is directly proportional to the number of people grabbing those opportunities. If people are more, it is obvious that the city would be buzzing with honk and horns, filling the roads that lead them to somewhere or the other. The best way you could get out of that buzzing road is to take a highway. To your surprise, there is something big to come to the city of Gurgaon.
The news broke out that after getting approval from Union Transport and Highways Ministry, NHAI, the National Highways Authority of India informed that the construction of Gurugram’s longest flyover namely Gurugram-Alwar National Highway 48 will be completed in one year. The project report in detail was completed way back during the first term of Manohar Lal Khattar government. Due to some issues, the work was delayed. During that time, the Khattar government wanted to see this project be in the full-fledged form in 11 months.
According to the official related to this project, the work on this project is going diligently. This 5 km long flyover is being provided with maximum manpower so that it could be completed within the specific frame of time. Giving some details about the project, the official added, due to high volume traffic, the stretch between Rajiv Chowk to Badshahpur remained clogged, hence, there was an urgent need to construct a flyover.
The construction of that elevated flyover would not only facilitate the unclogging of the road but also save time by cutting down the travel time. The flyover encompasses 6-lane main carriageway and 3-lane service road. Under the supervision of National Highway Authority of India (NHAI), the proffer for elevated flyover has been given to Oriental Infrastructure Pvt. Ltd.
A senior official of NHAI informed that another underpass has been proposed on the elevated road. With this, he added, two underpasses will be built, first at Subash Chowk and second at the T-junction located near Vatika Chowk, at the point where Southern Peripheral Road (SPR) merges with Sohna Road. Along with that, there would be some facility for pedestrians as well.
A three-foot overbridge would be constructed for the pedestrians. These three projects would progress simultaneously with the main project. The project not only would ease the traffic but also facilitate the connectivity from National Highway-48 near Rajiv Chowl to Kundli-Manesar-Palwal (KMP) expressway. This project is really a huge one and would involve manpower and once it would be done, the whole scenario of the Sohna Road would be changed giving it a new and beautiful experience of road rides.
